Here is how Kevin Drum disappeared from my blogroll and $10 more went to HRC's campaign:

"Yeah, I'm pretty much at the same place. There are already an awful lot of reasons for me not to bother defending Hillary even tepidly, and I hardly need another one. She's been voted off the island. It's time for her to go."

hey it worked "W"

the W approach of they 'can't win, give up' gave us mr. 30% so people should reconsider the new Democratic party.

It's ironically the perfect storm for Dems if a third party candidate steps in. Someone should fire up the Draft Gore stuff. I really think McCain will win now.

Kevin Drum is still on my blogroll...

I mean, he admits it's a tie. So he hasn't drunk the Kool-Aid.

Drum and Atrios

seem to try to be objective but when there's any doubt both can be counted on to break against HRC. Not totally ready to give up membership in the old boys club, I guess.

Mon Dieu!

I didn't know there was another sociologist lurking around here. Nice to meet you.

Let's not be simplistic, here

It really is possible to support Obama, and yet not have drunk the Kool-Aid.

In the same way, it really is possible to support Obama, and not be One of The Boiz. Although one of the many horrific things about this election, if it's ever documented, has been watching the mindrot, the Alien 2008-style deterioration of so many of our putative blogging leaders in their writing, analytical, and polemic skills.

IMNSHO, Drum and Atrios are still writing well. That's a sign that their critical faculties are intact. As I pray to The God(ess)(e)(s) Of My Choice, If Any, that mine still are. BTD, tepid Obama supporter, is another example. I'm sure there are others. If the marriage counseling that will be needed after the nomination has any chance of being successful, the intact bloggers are going to be critical to the process.

UPDATE Poking around, I see that Drum voted Hillary off the island -- oh, it's his island? -- on the basis of an Atrios post, which was, in turn, based on an unsourced Ambinder post. What was I saying about critical thinking skills?

Cooling off

Hi lambert. We had an exchange at Avedon's place last week over this, with you taking exception to me saying "everyone needs to STFU about the primaries for a while". Have you changed your mind? The solution is for people to find something else to train their fire on.

Of course that's not an easy task in this era of unprecedented peace and prosperity.

it's like being dealt this hand in bridge:

where you have a minor Queen and a short run of non-honor cards, no real Aces or sets of anything you can power thru the rubber with, and your Jack heading a bunch of really low cards looks promising, but you're not sure and haven't tried that convention before.

your partner dropped out of the bidding early with "i got nuthin." and the other team, well, at first you thought grandpa had lost his game, and couldn't count cards anymore. but then you realized that his evil, quiet partner set you up and let you win the first few rounds, to make you vulnerable. the penalty points double when you reach that state.

I really don't get it...

You're dropping someone from your blogroll solely because you disagree on his choice of presidential candidate?

If I judged blogs like that I'd hardly be reading or blogrolling anyone.

What is it with people who only want to read blogs whose writers agree with them on every little thing? Isn't the right-wing blogosphere enough of an echo chamber? Why do supposedly "big tent" liberals feel such a desperate need to create one of their own?

My bad

Drum's voting Hillary off the island -- his island, apparently -- on the basis of a post from Lord Eschaton (which is indeed beautifully written) -- that in turn links to an unsourced assertion by Marc Ambinder of the Atlantic.

We're voting people off the island on that basis? What was I saying about critical thinking skills? I guess the mind-rot has proceeded further than I thought. Let's hope the patient can resist...

Anyhow, I just added this post to the whole WWTSBQ series. Alas, it really does deserve to be there.

NOTE Elayne, check the whole series. There's more than "disagreement" going on here, IMNSHO

Hillary working with right-wing media?

As if.

Right, she ought to be working with the A-listers!

Or Jake Tapper.

If I want to read Obama press releases I figure I can just go right to the source...

C'mon, ribo, you ignorant slut. Try as best you can to keep up. There's already a post on this. The cutting and pasting Obama troll routine is very, very old. Elevate your game, wouldja? Cut a deal with Axelrod's astroturf operation like rootless did. He's paid by the word, not by the post. Hey, only kidding! Where's your sense of humor?

NOTE Ritual Eschaton disclaimer on A-listers.

Hi Corinne

Nice to meet you too...

And no, I don't drop folks from my blogroll for disagreement but for weeks and weeks of CDS, and stupid arguments (like "WWTSBQ").

not me

i haven't dropped anyone from my blogroll because of whom they support, and even tho some blogs have bopped around the deep bend, if i may mix my metaphors and be alliterative at the same time.

i have myself tried to be fair and even handed in my critism of both candidates. however i find that when i write against obama, i get flamed by the obamabots, and when i write against clinton, i get flamed by the hillarybots.

i endorse neither candidate. personally, i believe clinton would make a marginally better president, but i think obama has a better chance of getting elected, or i did until omygodhispastorisascreamingnegro! week last week.

even now, i have to say, i see more desparation and therefor underhanded tactics used by clinton's campaign (i'm not saying "only" used by clinton's campaign...i'm saying "more") and it makes me root, however tepidly, for obama.

but i think that on a progressive scale of 1 to 10, 1 being michael moore and 10 being noam chomsky, hillary rates a minus 5 and barack rates a minus 8.

neither one is progressive, and neither one is even hardly a democrat, if you define democrat in terms of fdr, jfk and lbj (in terms of policies for the american people).

they both suck.

but i digress, which is actually the only thing i do well in blogtopi and yes, i coined that phrase.

skippy the bush kangaroo! now with 30% more snark!
