Yes, my friends, Republicans really do suck

And schadenfreude is far too mild a term for what Tom Watson feels.

Ditto James Wolcott.

Yes, it really was the economy, stupid. Quelle surprise.

I'd be glad as well

if Obama were really delivering the big hurt to the Republican brand as a whole, rather than just the man who's running for president.

If he'd slam the Republican Party, by name, just once... that might even make me consider voting for the guy. Seriously.

[Or if instead of talking about "returning to the policies of the 1990s" he'd call them what they were - the policies of the last Democratic president.]

Obama's been attacking the Repulican Party

Pretty consistently, now, for weeks. He could probably do more, but the biggest problem is not so much not attacking Republicans; it's that he refuses to use the speak the name of very own party that is the bigger problem.

BTW, I won't lose any sleep over seeing the GOP get there's, but it is so hard, this year, to feel it or care about it. It's especially hard coming from a candidate who's made his man-crush for Reagan known far and wide. Hillary may have been a Goldwater Girl, but unlike her youthful infatuation, he hasn't gotten over his crush on Reagan; not even a little bit.

orly?

Links Plz? (I'd be happy to be see this!)

I've seen him criticizing McCain, but not the Republicans as a whole. Quotes, anyone?

Yes James the Great

wishes the Republicans...

smashed beyond all recognition, in such wriggling, writhing, anguished disarray that it can barely reconstitute itself, so desperate for answers that it looks to Newt Gingrich for visionary guidance, his wisdom and insight providing the perfect cup of hemlock to finish off the conservative movement for good so that it can rot in the salted earth of memory unmissed and unmourned in toxic obscurity.

But as anglachelforesees...

They will happily hand over the bankrupt and beggared nation to their opponents and spend the next four years screaming about how this is all the fault of the Democrats who over-regulated the markets while under-regulating government agencies, who have gutted the military and aren't sufficiently strong against the militant jihadism, and who are trying to force their heathenish, immoral values like gay marriage and birth control onto good upstanding citizens.

That doesn't exactly feel like schadenfreude weather to me. Bring a sweater.

And Watson? His expectation is...

A sharp national turn to the left - the next New Deal - is lurking in the eaves.

I have grave doubts. Tom's kool aid is probably cherry flavored. But I have never been so willing to be wrong. ?
