It’s a complete waste of time to discuss the (nonexistent) chances of the current crop of politicians, here and in the Middle East, accomplishing PITME. Or a bad joke, your choice. But just for fun, let’s say you’re a high ranking officer in a government with a vested interest in peace talks and a resolution to the I/P problem. What ideas do you have?

I’m a one-state solution person. A secular state with a “right of return” for all peoples making a religious or historical claim to the region. And I’ve always loved Bartcop’s proposal: if Holy Sand is what people need, well hell! There’s a whole mess of it in OK, they came come and make that desert bloom. I’m sure there is a passage in some Holy Scripture somewhere which could be interpreted to support that. They could give our fundies a run for their money, and show them what working hard because your gawd commanded you to really means.
